¿Le duele perturbar la paz antes de ese "sí, quiero" de la boda? Quizás quieras comprobarlo tú mismo si estás en el sur de Australia, donde interrumpir una boda (o un funeral, en realidad) conlleva una cuantiosa multa de 10.000 dólares. Así es, en el cuarto estado más grande de todo el país, eso de "hablar ahora o callar para siempre" es pura tontería de Hollywood y conlleva consecuencias bastante pronunciadas.

Esta ley se remonta a 1953 y es parte de la Sección 7A de la Ley de Delitos Sumarios de Australia del Sur. No es necesario que las ceremonias sean de carácter religioso, ni esta medida se limita estrictamente a los ciudadanos. Según la ley, los perpetradores están sujetos a una multa de cinco cifras o dos años (¡sí, años!) de cárcel. Parece un buen momento para amordazar a tu tío borracho.

Si bien no hay mucho contexto histórico que respalde la medida de mantenimiento de la paz, la ley todavía está vigente. La próxima vez que explores el extremo sur de Down Under, asegúrate de cerrar los labios antes de que te cueste el viaje.
