Ori is guided by a team of veteran journalists, non-profit professionals, social entrepreneurs, and global activists dedicated to preserving culture and championing local voices on a global scale. Together this group helps solidify and amplify Ori's mission to provide a sustainable ecosystem for storytellers around the world.
Kang-Chun Cheng
Global Creative Director
Kang-Chun (KC) Cheng is an independent Taiwanese American photojournalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. Her work covers the environment, cultural continuity, foreign aid, and outdoor adventure. She's an editor-at-large at The Xylom, the only AAPI science newsroom in the U.S. KC's work can be found in Atmos, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Guardian, Bloomberg, Al Jazeera, Africa Intelligence, Summit Journal, and Bicycling. She is also an Ori senior photographer. KC is integral in helping Ori tap and grow its robust overseas network and is a former winner of the Ori Creative Grant.
Benjamin Grant
Social Impact Manager
Benjamin is the brains behind Daily Overview, one of the largest environmental focus Instagram accounts. His book "Overview: A New Perspective of Earth" has been critically-acclaimed by the New York Times, The Economist, Fast Company, CNN and was selected as one of the "Best Books of 2016" by Amazon, The Smithsonian, and the Los Angeles Times. Images from the project have been featured in hundreds of publications around the world including the New York Times, Washington Post, WIRED, The Economist, VICE and Ori. Within Ori, Benjamin reimagines the way we see the world, forcing conversation and action.
Kade Krichko
Executive Director
Kade is the founder of Ori and the Ori Creative Grant. He is an award-winning editor and journalist living at the intersection of culture, current event, and community. Kade has chased the barbed wire surf scene in Lebanon, run with Cuba’s underground Internet pirates, and traced skiing’s origins in rural China. His writing has appeared in The New York Times, ESPN, VICE, Anthony Bourdain's investment 'Roads & Kingdoms' and Outside, among others. He’s fluent in two languages, but has gotten lost in many others. In recent years, Kade's work has shifted from longform reporting to amplifying underrepresented voices around the world and at home.
Teddy Wingo
Philanthropy Director
Teddy is an experienced non-profit professional with a passion for community, conservation, and sustainable growth. He is the current development director at ECOSS, focusing on environmental justice with an emphasis on immigrant and refugee communities. Teddy's previous work supported large conservation non-profits in the Pacific Northwest. He is an avid traveler and brings his enthusiasm and expertise to Ori's expanded philanthropy and fundraising initiatives.
Noelle Yasso
Legal/Operational Director
Noelle is a Lebanese-American lawyer based in New York City. She joins the Ori team as an experienced non-profit lawyer with a background in immigration and environmental law. She is a University of Pennsylvania Law School grad and is fluent in French, English, Spanish, and German. Noelle's community-first approach to non-profit law forms an integral part of Ori's mission to build sustainable ecosystems for underrepresented voices in some of the world's most vulnerable regions.
