Law List: Miss a Dog Walk in Italy? It Will Cost You

Para la ciudad de Turín, Italia, el bienestar de las mascotas no es cosa de risa. De hecho, en la cuarta ciudad más grande de Italia, pasear a tu perro no es solo un ritual, es una obligación legal. En 2005, Turín aprobó una ley que obligaba a los dueños de perros a pasear a sus perros no una, sino tres veces al día. Si no se cumple esa cuota, se enfrentará a una multa de 500 euros. Así es, una factura enorme por no llevar a tu amigo peludo con correa.

Esta normativa inusualmente estricta forma parte de un reglamento para mascotas de casi 20 páginas, que otorga a la ciudad las normas más estrictas para animales del condado, y quizás de toda Europa. Además de la medida para pasear perros, los dueños de mascotas no pueden teñir el pelaje de sus mascotas ni cortarles la cola, normas que, según el periódico local La Stampa, buscan "ilegar convertir a un perro en un ridículo juguete de peluche".

Roma tiene una sanción similar por pasear perros (también instaurada en 2005), pero solo exige un paseo al día. Para hacer cumplir la política, la policía suele recurrir a informantes, vecinos precavidos que se aseguran de que el Sr. Snuggles consiga que su perro entre, o de lo contrario, se las verá con él.
