In our first year participating in travel writing's most prestigious award ceremony, our humble travel culture magazine took home not one, but two honors including at the 2025 Lowell Thomas Awards. David Farley's Issue 02 feature on the rebirth of a Czech village titled "Back to Life" won third place in the Special Purpose Travel category. Additionally, Ori received honorabl mention in the Travel Magazine category alongside giants AFAR, Condé Nast, and Travel & Leisure. As an independent magazine, that's some pretty massive company.
Put on by the Society of American Travel Writers, these annual awards are the gold standard for travel writing and are chosen by a panel of professors at the University of Missouri School of Journalism. These are awards for journalists chosen by journalists and we couldn't be more excited to earn their respect and accolades.
