Letter from the Editor: Welcome to Ori

Letter from the Editor: Welcome to Ori

Ori Generation,

Welcome to your new favorite travel magazine! Our diverse lineup of photographers, writers, and artists are here to curate over 130 pages of unique stories from places far and near, bringing the world to your coffee table.

But Ori is more than a timeless collection of stunning photography and award-winning travel writing, this magazine is our project to build a healthier ecosystem for storytellers everywhere. Rather than dispatching writers to far-flung destinations, we are collaborating with local creators to share their stories with a global audience. The idea is to learn from the people that live it, and inspire our own adventures and experiences along the way.

We like to say Ori is a community, and by subscribing to our magazine your commitment to quality print is actually so much more. Your dollars are working towards uplifting a generation of storytellers and letting our scroll-happy media world know that yes, these stories matter.

I'm excited to show you all what we've been cooking up over the last few months and hope that these pages are something you revisit again and again. You've heard of the slow food movement, but I'd like to invite you to our own literary equivalent. Combining fine, locally-sourced ingredients, Ori encourages you to kick your feet up and savor this experience. Welcome to the #SlowRead movement, we hope you stay awhile.

Be curious,

Kade Krichko, founding editor
